DUBAI: Aspiring young athletes from across the UAE are being encouraged to sign up for the Sun & Sand Sports Junior Triathlon, which is set to take place on Dubai’s Kite Beach on October 11.
Youngsters from ages four to 13 are invited to take part in the swim, run and cycle challenge, and will be split into five age-group categories from four to five years old, six to seven, eight to nine, 10 to 11 and 12 to 13.
Age groups from four to five onwards will take on a 25-metre swim, followed by 400-metre bike ride and 200-metre run, while the over-12s will undertake a 200-metre swim, 1,600-metre bike ride and an 800-metre run.
Six winners, the three top boys and girls from each age group, will win a range of prizes from Sun and Sand Sports.
More than 500 Dubai children took part in the last event in front of more than 1,000 supporters in June.
