Abu Dhabi: Body-slamming action makes its way for the first time in the UAE when the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) comes to the Zayed Sports City on February 9-11 with the RAW World Tour.

Loud music, soap opera-like storylines and most importantly, larger-than-life WWE Superstars battle in the ring in what is expected to be an electric three-night show.

"WWE is the biggest name in family entertainment today," says Patrick Talty, General Manager of the Zayed Sports City.

Their family-friendly programmes are broadcast in more than 145 countries reaching more than 500 million homes and watched by more than 20 million people in the region alone. With a variety of products ranging from toys to apparel to video games, WWE's merchandise sales soar over $1 billion worldwide. It's no wonder they appropriately call it the WWE Universe.

Pipe bomb

Superstars headlining the live events are John Cena, arguably the most popular yet polarising figure in WWE today; Current WWE Champion CM Punk, whose ‘pipe bomb' statements are backed up with equally devastating signature moves; Kane, whose return to the dark side is inducing fear amongst his peers; Dolph Ziggler, the self-confessed ‘Show-Off', and the self-proclaimed ‘Awesome One', The Miz, who acted as ambassador on behalf of the WWE at the press conference.

If The Miz's cockiness is any indication of in-ring action, the three-night show will literally be over-the-top. Joining the brawl will be Superstars R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder, Mason Ryan, Chris Jericho and many more.

WWE Championship matches will cap the first and second nights, while a special Tag Team match and an 8 Man Battle Royal will send the third night on a high-flying finale.

the general manager Mr Patrick quotes "WWE is the biggest name in family entertainment today," punching on ones face, throwing your opponent over, bleeding and swearing is this all part if family entertainment? people need to grow up and stop watching violent shows such as these. As a kid i used to watch a lot of wwf and wwe but once you realise the negative message it spreads as children see these people as their role models!!
