Uella Marcial emerged Ladies Masters Champion at the 8th GCC All-Filipino Bowling Tour 2005 held in Bahrain last week.

Marcial beat 36 other participants from across the GCC countries for the title.

Matching the Dubai girl were compatriots Tess Victoria and Clarisse Corpuz in the nerve-wracking all-UAE step-ladder final of the four-day tournament.

But the youngest player in the competition kept her focus and determination to bag the title.

The men's Masters Championship title was bagged by Roger Daquioag of Jeddah who won the event in the same fashion, overtaking second and first placed finishers from Dharan in the step-ladder finals. Earlier, other ladies representing UAE Filipinos displayed excellent form by finishing 1-2 in the ladies team event.

In first place was the team of Minda Meneses, Vicky Joquico, Mariya Fajardo and Virgie Villar, followed closely by the team of Grace Abalos, Malu Fornari, Ging Aring and Lorna Rabulan.

The Bahrain ladies' team took third place.

The singles event was captured by Pinky Acato of Jeddah, followed by Minda Meneses and Uella Marcial of the UAE.

The doubles event was bagged again by Jeddah's Pinky Acato and Jay Perez with the mother and daughter combination of Elsie and Uella Marcial taking second.

Grace Abalos and Malu Fornari of the UAE came in third. In other events, UAE Filipino ace George Maniozo finished all events champion, joined by Chris Villavelez of Jeddah in second place and youngster JR Yjares, also of the UAE, in third.

Their female counterparts Pinky Acato of Jeddah, Grace Abalos and Clarisse Corpuz, both of the UAE, finished first, second and third respectively.

Now in its eighth year, the annual All-Filipino GCC Bowling Tour is one of the biggest sports meet of Filipino expatriates in the Gulf countries with participation from Kuwait, Qatar, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Oman, UAE and Bahrain.

The 9th edition of the tour will be hosted by the Dubai Filipino Bowling Club at the Dubai Bowling Centre in August 2006.
