Dubai: Members of the Automobile Fencing Club from France will be the star attraction when as many as 60 fencers from all over the UAE converge for this year's Dubai Club Epee Cup this weekend.
Organised by the Dubai Fencing Club in cooperation with the UAE Fencing Federation, the event will be held at the Dubai International Academy at Emirates Hills on November 20 and 21.
Along with the best fencers from the UAE, the visiting French team will also be present for a private fencing event. The French players are all members of the Automobile Fencing Club, one of the oldest fencing clubs in the country and a working partner of the Dubai Fencing Club. "The Dubai Club Epee Cup is fast becoming a regular fixture on the UAE's sporting calendar and an exciting competition for both the player and the spectator.
This tournament promises an exciting weekend of fencing action," Master Coach Mihail Kouzev, President of Dubai Fencing Club, said.
The event will start at 9am on Friday. Entrance is free.
