Dubai: Shuttle Time is the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) flagship, schools-based development programme, which helps teachers develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to plan and deliver safe and fun badminton lessons to children.
BWF’s goal is to make badminton “the most played school sport in the world”. Launched in July 2014 on the sidelines of the Dubai Sports World held at the Dubai Trade Centre, Shuttle Time Dubai has a wider remit to promote badminton not only among schoolchildren, but within the wider community as a fun and social way of being active and healthy, regardless of age, ability and fitness level.
Shuttle Time Dubai’s initial target is to train more than 80 teachers in 40 schools to deliver enjoyable badminton lessons to more than 3,000 students between eight to 16 years.
Blending this grassroots initiative with the spectacle of the BWF Destination Dubai World Superseries Finals gives Shuttle Time Dubai a priceless platform to further showcase its wideranging programme.
