Dubai: Youngster Abdul Rahman Saif has completed a six-man line-up that includes Mohammad Shehab and Mohammad Al Joker for the UAE ranking tournament.

The event will determine the top eight ranked players in the country.

Saif was the third cueist to qualify for the tournament from Group A and he did so after a stunning 4-0 whitewash of Mohammad Al Balushi in the 2009 National Snooker Trail which drew to a close at Dubai Snooker Club late Tuesday night.

Abdul Aziz Rais, Abdullah Attar, Eisa Al Saeed, Obaid Khalifa and Salim Ali Salim advanced from the 14-man Snooker Trail tournament a day earlier.

Saif was in demolishing form Tuesday night and wasted no time in going after Al Balushi. Dead accurate with his potting he clinched the first frame 53-12 in no time and raced to a 3-0 lead when he breezed through the next two frames 69-3, 53-1.

Al Balushi threw everything he had at his opponent in a bid to stay alive in the fourth frame, but it wasn't enough and though it made life a bit difficult for Saif, it didn't do anything to alter the course of the match.

Saif remained calm and did little wrong to win 67-53 for a 4-0 victory. In a match to decide who takes top spot in Group A, Salim came from behind to beat veteran Khalifa 4-1. Khalifa won the first frame 66-41, but thereafter it was all Salim, who spared no effort in winning the next four frames 61-40, 59-31, 72-31, 50-30.

The UAE ranking tournament, which will be held in a few weeks' time, will also determine which cueists will earn the right to represent the emirates in international competitions.
