Al Ain : A delegation from the Police Sports Association paid a visit to The Palm Sports Resort on Monday morning to inspect the venue where they are to hold an archery competition for the police on May 24.

The visiting delegation expressed their admiration for the venue.

Eighty-eight archers are to participate in this event which will have competitors from the General Directorates of Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, in addition to the Special Security Forces, the General Command of Civil Defence and General Directorate of Naturalisation, Residency and ports. Each participating team is made up of eight archers along with a coach and an administrator.

Colonel Abdul Malek Mohammad Gani, director of Police Sports Association, said that this tournament is the first to be organised by the Police Sports Association with Olympic specifications since 1976.

"The range provides managerial, technical and organisational capabilities that can lead to the success of the tournament," he said.
