Dubai: UAE national team player Mohammad Shehab showed his class with a convincing victory over Saeed Al Mansouri at the Expo 2020 Open Snooker Championship at Dubai Snooker Club on Sunday night.

Shehab qualified for the last-16 of the tournament thanks to a 4-0 victory. He was joined by fellow UAE star Khalid Kamali, who continued his excellent form with a 4-2 win over Mohammad Shah Nawaz.

The night’s other matches saw former national team player Abdullah Al Attar beat Adel Mohammad 4-1, Hani Al Houri overcome Amer Al Ameri 4-2 and youth team player Bader Obaid Al Muhairi get the better of Mohammad Al Shamsi 4-1.

In the last 16 on Tuesday, Shehab will meet Al Houri, Kamali will take on Khalid Azouni, Mohammad Joker will be up against Ahmad Shehab and the fourth game will be between Al Attar and Al Muhairi.

The tournament is being played under the supervision and organisation of the UAE Billiards and Snooker Association and is sponsored by City Engineering Contracting. The total prize money is Dh100,000.
