Dubai: German rider Marcel Kittel won for the second successive day in the Dubai Tour 2014 as he timed his sprint to perfection to claim the third stage in Hatta on Friday.
The Giant-Shimano star edged out Juan Jose Lobato of Movistar and Peter Sagan of Cannondale on the line after a 162km medium mountain stage ride from Dubai World Trade Centre.
American Taylor Phinney of BMC Racing held on to his overall race lead with just Saturday’s final stage remaining. He has a 15-second advantage over Steven Cummings, with Lasse Norman Hansen a further two seconds adrift.
