Dubai: Lina Mazahari of Jordan and Jinan Bitari of Morocco clinched top honours at the inaugural Peace and Sport Badminton Cup that concluded at the Etisalat Academy earlier this week.

Mazahari and Bitari ended their preliminary round matches with clean records along with Dania Al Khalili of Jordon and Fatima Mousa of Saudi Arabia. Joining them in the last four stages were Nouf Saeed Al Mazroui and Muna Al Sahlawi of the UAE, Dani Murtadha of Lebanon, and Sudan’s Yathrib Sharf Al Deen.

Al Mazroui teamed up with Murtadha to win the bronze medal after they got the better of the Al Sahlawi and Al Deen in the third place play-off.

Dr. Ahmad Sa’ad Al Sharif, Secretary-General, Dubai Sports Council (DSC) was joined by Joel Bouzou, President and Founder, Peace and Sport and Digmawit Girmay, IOC Member and Vice-President, Badminton World Federation (BWF), for the presentation of trophies.

The championship was held under the patronage of the DSC and the BWF in collaboration with the Monaco-based Peace and Sport.
