Gill kick-starts new season on Roma
There was a new assembly of winners at the second instalment of the Union Properties-sponsored Dressage competition at the Emirates Equestrian Centre on Monday evening.
Dubai: There was a new assembly of winners at the second instalment of the Union Properties-sponsored Dressage competition at the Emirates Equestrian Centre on Monday evening.
The winner of both the Elementary and Medium classes was the well-matched pair of Tracy Gill and Roma.
"I am very happy with my start to the 2008-09 season, and I couldn't be more thrilled with Roma.
"She is a very genuine and talented mare that I am grateful for the opportunity to compete on her."
Gill also placed third in the Elementary class on her handsome stallion Worthily, closely following the second place duo, the ever-consistent Charlotte Drakeley on Cennan Alarch.
Impressive percentage
The winner of the Junior Preliminary class, with an impressive percentage of 72.1%, was Hope de Revell on Sylvano Eagle, once again followed by the reliable pair of Charlotte Drakeley on Cennan Alarch.
Warsan Stables rider Ebrahim Al Mhirech won the Preliminary Seniors Class, beating 25 other competitors on his mount Jest Dew It.
Hot on their heels was Michelle Woolmer aboard Utopia, who were just pipped to the post scoring a 67.5% to the winning combination's 67.9%.
Lesely Jones was the clear winner of the Novice class on Kengarth Danielle with a score of 70.3%.
The next two competitions will be held on November 24 and December 1 at DIEC and entry is free of charge.
