Dubai: Dubai Duty Free (DDF) won their third consecutive men’s Ramadan Volleyball championship at Sharjah Indian School last week.

Twelve teams took part in the tournament, which ran from July 19 to August 2. They beat Vision Safety 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17 to retain the title.

Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman of DDF, said; “Congratulations to our winning volleyball team. DDF promotes sport on an international level, but we also encourage sport participation within the organisation and the DDF Sports and Social Club, which was set up in 1986, is a centre for all of our in-house sporting activities. We are delighted to add another trophy to our impressive collection.”

DDF Coach Sagheer Hydrose, said: “I would like to congratulate the management and staff of DDF for promoting corporate sporting events. The DDF men’s and ladies volleyball teams have won several championships over the years, thanks to the visionary leaders who run the world’s top airport retail operation, and the work done by them in creating a healthy work-and-play culture is truly commendable.”

In June the DDF women’s volleyball team won the Flomic Inter-Corporate tournament beating ‘Bella Fashions’.
