Abu Dhabi: Great Britain won the Longines Nations Cup at the inaugural CSIO5* President of the UAE Cup show jumping championship while hosts UAE finished tied fourth to qualify for the Nations Cup in Barcelona.

The British team started well in the first round to finish on zero and pipped Germany to claim top honours. The Netherlands came third and UAE impressed with fourth place.

British team consisted of Ellen Whitaker, Guy Williams, Ben Maher and Robert Smith.

The UAE team was led by Shaikha Latifa Al Maktoum with Shaikh Shakboot Bin Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Shaikh Majid Al Qassimi and Mohammad Hajri.

The CSIO5* President of the UAE Cup Grand Prix carrying a prize fund of Euros 300,000 will be held on Saturday at 4pm.

2nd Germany – 6 penalties

3rd Netherlands – 9 penalties

4th United Arab Emirates – 23 penalties
