Britain's Adlington wins 400-metre freestyle Olympic gold
Britain's Rebecca Adlington won the Olympic gold medal in the women's 400-metre freestyle swimming event on Monday.
Beijing: Britain's Rebecca Adlington won the Olympic gold medal in the women's 400-metre freestyle swimming event on Monday.
Katie Hoff of the United States won the silver and Joanne Jackson of Britain the bronze.
Adlington clocked in at four minutes and 3.22 seconds, while Hoff followed seven seconds later. Jackson finished with four minutes and 3.52 seconds in the timeclock.
