Costa Darauda, Spain: Subaru team driver Xevi Pons enhanced the excitement of Spanish fans when he gave Barcelona football star Oleguer Presas the "ride of his life".
The Subaru Impreza WRC driver, who, along with Citroen's Dani Sordo, is a popular star among the Spanish rally fans, was surprised with his timing when accompanied by the Barcelona defender.
"It's funny. In the best of my four runs, my co-driver was Oleguer," said Pons, whose regular co-driver in the championship is Xavier Amigo.
Presas, who was born in Sabadell, some 20km from Barcelona, had signed for Barcelona at the age of 21 in the 2001-02 season and went straight into the Barca B team.
Under manager Frank Rijkaard, he has consolidated his position as a right back and is a regular in the team now.
