Abu Dhabi: Agna Anto completed a triple triumph whilst depriving youngster Deborah Ribello of a treble of her own, while Mohammad Munawar retained the men’s singles title in the 36th ISC Apex Open Badminton (Super series) which concluded over the weekend.

Anto beat Ribello 21-5, 21-6 to win the women’s singles and later teamed up with Jaysree Narayan to win the women’s doubles title, defeating Jolywin-Roselle 21-13, 21-17.

Anto picked up her third title when she partnered Shibil C.P. to a win over Mohammad Moin-Jolywin 21-14, 21-11 in the mixed doubles final.

Munawar clinched two titles after he first beat Xavier Raphel 21-11, 21-8 to retain the men’s singles and he added the men’s doubles alongside Afshin. They beat Rakesh R-Shibil C.P. 21-19, 17-21, 24-22.

Apart from Munawar, the others who scored doubles were Deborah Ribello, Roshan Joseph and Santhosh Kumar.

Ribello, who lost to Anto in the women’s final, had earlier wrapped up a smart double win in both the under-16s and under-13s girls categories. In both the finals she overcame Sara Siraj.

In the under-16 boys category, Joseph beat Akhil Pradeep in straight sets 21-16, 21-17 and later they joined forces to beat Mohammad Muneez and Abdullah 21-16, 21-17 in the doubles final.

With the conclusion of the Super Series, the next set of competitions will be in the Elite Series from Tuesday, when some international shuttlers will be in action.
