The UAE Schools Olympics, organised by the Educational Zones Committee, is a national initiative aimed at promoting the principles of the Olympic Games while fostering the spirit of challenge, excellence and fair competition among UAE pupils.

“Our aim is to prepare a generation of promising athletes who will represent the country in future international sports events. All efforts have been strengthened to advance the sports sector at the school level and make the participating schools a breeding ground for the country’s next athletic stars,” noted Hassan Lootah, Director of Physical Education, Ministry of Education, and Head, Educational Zones Committee.

All preliminary competitions concluded all over the UAE in April with nearly 800 pupils participating through the various Olympic training centres in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Sharjah East. The winners of these preliminary competitions will now be seen in action this weekend.
