Doha: UAE wrestler Mohammad Al Qubaisi won the silver medal in the Freestyle 74kg category in the Arab Games after losing the final to Ramzi Al Maraf from Jordan, while the bronze went to Walid Hasabelnabi from Egypt and Wissam Al Mualla from Iraq.

Meanwhile, a wrong turn prevented the UAE's best hope in the cycling competition, Yousuf Mirza, from finishing the Men's Individual Time Trial as the North African cyclists once again dominated the medals.

The 33km race was won by Tunisian Rafa'a Chitoui in 42:00.9 minutes followed by Moroccan Mohsin Lahsaini in second place in 42:56.54 and Algerian Azzdine Lagab third in 43:40.15.

The UAE's other competitor, Mohammad Al Marwi, finished ninth out of a field of 22 in 44:39.74 minutes.The UAE will enter the men's 71km Individual Road Race competition tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the UAE snooker team will face Bahrain today in the final match of the team competition after beating Qatar yesterday in the semi finals 3-0 (51-33, 82-42 and 64-22).

The UAE continued their winning streak as they led Group A in the preliminary round after winning all three matches against Morocco, Iraq and Jordan to win promotion to the semi finals with Iraq.

Bahrain led Group B, beating Qatar, Kuwait and Libya to reach the last four stage, where they were joined by Qatar.

Bahrain yesterday defeated Iraq 3-1 for a date with the UAE in the final to compete for the gold medal while hosts Qatar will play against Iraq for the bronze.

Mohammad Al Hashemi, Eisa Al Hashemi and Mohammad Al Joker represented the UAE.
