Ajman: Al Ameer English School produced a sterling performance in the UAE Open Karate Championship held at Al Ahli Cub, Dubai. A team made up of four students from Al Ameer secured double medals.

The championship was conducted by the UAE Taekwondo and Karate Federation.

Mohammad Abdul Muqsit Khan won two gold medals in the kata and fight categories while Esmail Afraz Malar bagged gold medals in kata and a bronze in fight.

Mohammad Fahis Abu Baker won a gold medal in kata and silver medal in fight while Jithin Dev Sanjeev won silver medals in kata and fight. The Al Ameer School karate team was guided by their coach Lewis Tito and managed by Hashik.

S. J. Jacob, the principal, Abu Saleh, vice principal, and Saifudheen P Hamsa, academic co-ordinator, congratulated the winners. A.K. Abdul Salam, the chairman of the school, announced that the medallists will be honoured through a special function to be held in the school premises next month.
