Dubai : Hosts Emirates airline had a quiet second day even as the likes of Aer Lingus and Etihad Airways stamped their growing dominance at the 5th World Airlines Bowling Championship (WABC) being held at the Dubai Bowling Centre.

Aer Lingus helped themselves to the Doubles Male title, while Etihad Airways too managed to gain a part of the recognition with the Doubles Mixed category crown at the end of the second day of competition.

On an engrossing second day, Aer Lingus kept their cool to end at the top of the Doubles Male competition with a total pin-fall of 2,484, a mere 24 pins away from the second-placed Swiss Air team with a pin-fall of 2,460. Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways came in third with a total of 2,437.

Aer Lingus and Etihad Airways have been among the more consistent teams here after consolidating on their opening day's winnings.

Aer Lingus came in second in the Men's Team event behind hosts Emirates airline, while Etihad Airways also bagged the second position behind newcomers Austrian Airlines in the Mixed Teams event.
