Dubai: If your kid loves motorsport head to Indoor Kartdrome at Dubai Autodrome that’s offering bespoke summer camps for kids under the auspices of Gulf Star.

“Our holiday camp at Dubai Autodrome is combining all of the fantastic activities on offer at the Indoor Kart centre with the child care talents of the excellent team at Gulf Star to create every kids dream camp,” said Matt Doran, Managing Director of Gulf Star.

“It’s a week full of competition and tournaments, including indoor karting, laser tag in a medieval maze, Xbox zone with super wide screens, billiard competitions, indoor team games including mini dodgeball,” he added.

The children will also get an opportunity to learn about the history of go-karting and given some special experiences throughout the course of the week.

Rules of racing

“Every Thursday is race day and there will be a closing ceremony where awards will be given for success through the week,” said Doran.

“The camp also brings in people who would not necessarily get the opportunity to experience sports like go-karting. The tuition provided instantly develops a child’s understanding on how to respect other drivers and [inculcates] appreciation for the rules of racing.

“This can lead to better, safer racers of the future. We are delighted to offer a bit of history of the sport at such an early age,” he added.

The camps also focus a lot on fitness aspect and have special programmes designed to keep kids active. “Everything is a competition and in between karting and laser tag, Gulf Star staff run indoor games like dodgeball and mini tennis to keep everyone active.

“The Autodrome caterers also provide a healthy eating option at lunch time and fruit lollipops at snack time which makes it easy for parents not to worry about their [kids] lunch.”

The camp, open to children between the age group of seven and 15 years, began on July 1 and runs till August 30. “Traditional summer camps offer indoor sports and activities etc. However, here at the adrenaline-pumping Dubai Autodrome you are guaranteed a different experience. This is definitely unique.

“We have been offering advice, tuition and have already seen improvement from day one to day three in children’s race times,” Matt said.
