Dubai: The UAE Volleyball Association (VA) will submit a report to Shaikh Omar Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the honorary president of the association, on all activities conducted by the VA board since June 2005.

This was decided by the VA board of directors at a meeting last Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Mohammad Abdul Karim Jalfar. The report will also include details of the preparations for hosting the ninth Rashid International Volleyball Tournament (RIVT) and the 10th GCC Youth Tournament.

The first meeting of the RIVT organising committee will be held at the Volleyball Association premises in Dubai today.

It was also decided that the Al Nasr-Al Jazira league championship title clash will be held at Al Ain Club on Thursday.

The President's Cup final, initially scheduled for May 9, will be held on a different date that will be announced later. The first phase of the Super Cup will be held from April 19-21 and the second phase from April 26-28. The VA general assembly will be held on May 24 in Dubai.

The VA has requested Shaikha Shamsa Bint Hasher Al Maktoum, board member and head of the ladies' and schools' committee, to draw up plans for the first ladies' volleyball event in May.
