Plouay: UAE Team Emirates will take part in the 247-km one-day Bretagne Classic, in Brittany, France, on Sunday.
Italian riders Simone Consonni, Valerio Conti, Marco Marcato, Oliviero Troia, Diego Ulissi, Edward Ravasi and Simone Petilli will compete alongside Croatian teammate Kristijan Durasek.
Consonni said: “This will be my race debut and I’m looking forward to it. I will be carefully studying the course to identify which parts are most suited to my skills. It will be interesting to gauge my competitiveness and skill as well as assess my form.”
UAE Team Emirates sports director Orlando Maini, added: “It is imperative that our riders pay the highest possible attention to the race from start to end. The course is narrow in the first part so potentially joining attacks could be a good idea. As the team approaches the finish line, Conti and Ulissi’s task will be to join a breakaway while Marcato will lead Consonni in the event of a sprint.”
Elsewhere in Europe UAE Team Emirates is racing at the third and final Grand Tour of the season the Vuelta a Espana until September 10.
