The UAE's four players who will compete against the world's top pool talent in Fujairah next month have been decided.

Following a series of knockout tournaments held in Dubai recently, the four UAE players who have qualified for the Damas World 8-Ball Pool Championship are Esmail Yaqoob, Ameen Fikri, Mohammad Al Hosani and Hani Al Khoury.

The four will take on some of the world's best pool players from November 8-14 at the Fujairah Exhibition Centre.

"We are delighted to announce the winners of the UAE qualifying tournaments and we wish them well as they go on and compete against the very best the sport has to offer," said Tournament Director Ahmad Ebrahim.

Snooker's world number one, Ronnie O'Sullivan, and defending World 8 Ball champion, Efren 'The Magician' Reyes, will be among the hot shots competing in the Fujairah event.

The UAE talent joins 12 Middle Eastern national players who will also compete in the strong field of professionals from across the globe.

And for the first time players from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have been invited to join the tournament.

The Fujairah World 8 Ball Pool Championship, which is one of two world tournaments on the World-Pool Billiard's Association's (WPA) yearly calendar, will see players from over 20 different countries challenging for a share of the bumper $110,000 prize money.

The tournament will see a total of 64 players from around 40 countries take part. The event is organised under the supervision of the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA). Chairman of the WPA, Ian Anderson, said he was thrilled with the growth and development of the sport in the UAE.

The championship is being held under the directive of His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and is supported by Shaikh Saleh Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Chairman, Fujairah Department of Industry and Economy and patron of the World 8-Ball Pool Championship.
