Sharjah: The Sharjah Education Zone Volleyball Championship was launched yesterday under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, Wife of Supreme Council Member and Sharjah Ruler His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of Sharjah's Supreme Council on Family and Board Chairwoman of the Sharjah Girls Clubs, and chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club.

The announcement was made at a press conference that brought together representatives from participating schools and international referees.

Female students from the advanced primary years will be competing against each other at the Sharjah Ladies' Club, which will be hosting the championship for the first time. The championship will conclude on February 18.

The Championship Technical Director Nabeeha Mohammad Al Hawas thanked Sharjah Ladies Club headed by Shaikha Jawaher for the continuous support for women sports.

"This is also a chance for the students to prove what they can do to pave the way for themselves to join the Sharjah Ladies' Club varsity," noted Al Hawas.

Mariam Al Mansouri, Championship organiser and Administrative Head of the Volleyball team, said that hosting this annual school championship will be different this year.

Al Tala Primary School, Al Manar Model School, Khawla School, Al Nouf School, Eshbeleyia School and Al Rumaisa School are taking part in the event.
