Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, won the singles title in the skeet competition of the 9th Arab Shooting Championship in Kuwait with a tally of 148 points.

Salah Al Mutairy from Kuwait came second with 147 points while UAE's Saif Bin Futtais finished third after resorting to the golden shot system to break the tie.

The top three were followed by Zaid Al Mutairy from Kuwait, Abdul Aziz Al Atiyah and Saeed Bu Sharif, both from Qatar.

Shaikh Saeed helped the UAE team to take the silver medal in the team's event behind Kuwait after collecting 362 points, 3 points fewer than the hosts.

Qatar finished third with 357 points. Bin Futtais, Mohammad Hassan, Saeed Al Dhareef and Anwar Juma were the other players in the UAE team.

Meanwhile, the UAE juniors team dominated the juniors event by winning gold medals in both the singles and team events in addition to the silver in the singles and the bronze in the team events.

Salem Al Qaidi won the gold in the singles in the air gun 10 metre followed by his compatriot Rashid Al Qaidi in second place which helped the UAE to win the team event, with the team also featuring Mohammad Al Shehi.
