Dubai: The UAE’s Rabia Mohammad Marzouki claimed the overall honours in chess at the Shaikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament on Tuesday.

Marzouki was the only unbeaten player at the end of seven rounds to finish with a tally of 7 points at the Dubai Chess and Culture Club. In second place was Maisoon Narash of Syria with six points after she lost to Marzouki in the fourth round, while third place was shared by Marwa Safar and Sumayya Ebrahim Bu Qasim of the UAE with an identical five points.

Meanwhile, Dubai Municipality will meet Dubai Educational Zone (DEZ) in the volleyball final, while Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) will clash with Public Prosecution in the basketball final at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) indoor hall on Thursday. The basketball final will also be held at the same time with Dewa taking on the Public Prosecution.
