Grandmaster Belkhodja Slim of Tunisia, IM Al Taher Fouad and IM Ameen Bassem of Egypt are in the second spot with 5 points.

In the women's section, Women's International Master (WIM) Al Rufei Eman H of Iraq emerged the sole leader with 6.5 points.

Bahji Hind of Morocco had an upset victory over WIM Mouradian Knarik of Lebanon. The loss pushed the overnight joint leader to the second spot with 5.5 points.

Among the UAE players, Amnah Salem beat Al Najjar Hoda of Syria, while Al Harmoudi Mona defeated Al Naimat Rayah of Jordan. The game between Jameela Juma and Nora Mohammad Saleh ended in a draw.
