Dubai: The Shehab brothers ran into mixed luck in the pre-quarter finals of the Dubai Snooker Tournament being played at the Dubai Snooker Club.

In Monday night’s action, top-ranked and national champion Mohammad Shehab eased through into the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win over Sa’ad Ahmad Mujaddadi, while younger brother Ahmad fought well before going down to Mohammad Sharif 2-4.

Two others also ensured their places in the quarter-finals with Habib Sabah blanking Eisa Al Sayed 4-0, while Farhan Qamar defeated Abdullah Al Attar 4-1.

Earlier in the third round of the competition, that is being sponsored by Chocolate Advertising LLC, Ali Ganem Al Amri, Hussain Al Harisi and Nadeem Mohammad had all advanced to the pre-quarters with identical wins. Al Amri beat Abdul Hamid Abdul Karim 3-1, Al Harisi defeated Karim Shabsi 3-1 and Mohammad got the better of Khalifa Obaid 3-1.

Action will continue daily from 5pm at the Dubai Snooker Club till the conclusion of the tournament. The finals are on March 23.
