Dubai: The Khor Fakkan ladies volleyball team beat the Sharjah Ladies Club volleyball team (Al Radeef) 2-1 in an exhibition volleyball match that was played at the Sharjah Ladies Club Stadium.

The Al Radeef team did well to win the opening set 25-17. But Khor Fakkan came back strongly to draw level with a 25-22 result in the second set. In the decisive third set, Khor Fakkan kept their focus and went on to win set and match 15-8.

"We are pleased with the exposure this game has given us, although we lost the match against Khor Fakkan," said Nada Asker, manager of women's sports at Sharjah Ladies Club.

The Al Radeef team consists of girls under-15 who have been identified under a special training programme.

Al Radeef is one of the Sharjah Ladies Club's development initiatives under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, wife of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and Supreme Council Member Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club. This is one of the shared projects between Sharjah Ladies Club and the Ministry of Education in Sharjah which aims to adopt talented girls in basketball, volleyball and table tennis in an attempt to encourage champions.
