Dubai: The National Anti-doping committee (Nadoc) has lifted the temporary four-year ban imposed by Arab Cycling Federation (ACF) on Emirati cyclist Badr Mohammad Mirza after procedural errors in testing last year.
ACF had indicated that Mirza underwent the doping test on October 23, 2015, when he participated in the Arab Cycling Championship held in Sharm Al Shaikh, Egypt, and tested positive for Satnazolol.
The committee said that the gravity and magnitude of errors during the testing procedure on November 28, 2015 definitely affected the sample’s integrity and therefore the test was considered negative and the ban on Al Mirza was lifted. The player will now undergo tests on a regular basis.
The committee has set a 21-day deadline to appeal the decision.
