Abu Dhabi: The Dubai Tour and Tour of Abu Dhabi cycling events will be merged to create a bigger single race, Tour of UAE, from next year. The decision was announced at a joint press conference of the Dubai Sports Council and Abu Dhabi Sports Council in the capital today (Wednesday).
The Tour will boast of seven stages, running across the seven emirates of the country, and will retain it’s status as a World Tour event under the governing body UCI. The first edition will be held next February and the organisers have submitted two dates to the UCI for their ratification for the yearly calendar.
