Dubai: Under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Dubai Police Club will host the upcoming 24th Asian Snooker Championship, to be organised by the UAE Billiards and Snooker Association next month in Dubai.

The association held a press conference yesterday to announce the championship's details and the sponsoring company's name.

Retired Lieutenant General, Nasser Abdul Razaq, the Deputy Chairman of the Association and the head of the championship's higher committee expressed his thanks to Shaikh Hamdan for his continued support.

Abdul Razzaq also thanked National Bonds which is the main sponsor, for its strategic partnership with the association in this championship, and its offering of Dh350,000 in prize money.

He also said 52 players will take part from 22 Asian countries.

The UAE will be represented by seven players. Other players from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Taipei, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Iran and Afghanistan will participate in the championship.
