Ace UAE bowler Mohammad Khalifa Al Qubaisi snatched the leadership of Qatar Open Bowling Championship and reached the second round in style with six of his team mates.

Al Qubaisi scored a series of 2,204, an average of 244 pins, to take first place in the preliminary round of the competition from the Qatar bowler, Bandar, who retracted to the second place on the overall standings.

The other UAE bowlers to make it to the second round are: Naif Ogab, Hulaiman Al Hamly, Shaker Ali Al Hassan, Jamal Ali, Hussain Al Suwaidi and Sayed Ebrahim.

Meanwhile, UAE's lady bowler Rahma Mubarak finished the first round in third place and was promoted to the step-ladder competition to decide the tournament's champion among the ladies.

Rahma will face Bahrain bowler Nadia Al Awadi, who finished second, and the winner will reach the final match against Bredget of Denmark for the title.
