Abu Dhabi: Shaikha Latifa Al Maktoum warmed up in style for this week's Dubai Show Jumping 2007 Championship with a smart win at last weekend's event at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.

Shaikha Latifa, who was a member of the UAE team that won the bronze at the Doha Asiad, showed fine form at last weekend's competitions.

In partnership with Quidam's Pride, Shaikha Latifa topped the Class 10: A1 category (One Round with Jump-Off) with a faultless display in a timing of 85.84 seconds.

Arif Ahmad Al Ahli on Peter V.D came up with a better timing of 81.84 seconds but with four faults had to be content with the second place. However the duo completed a 1-2 for the Emirates Equestrian Club.

Most of the top UAE riders used the event to prepare for the January 10-12 Dubai Show Jumping Championship during which the World Cup qualifiers will also be held.

In the Class 8: B, A2 (One Round with Jump-Off), Abdul Rahman Al Ka'abi from the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club finished first in 39 seconds and no faults. The Sharjah rider was on N99Gedconti when he won this important event.

The second place went to Theresa Krapf from Ajman Equestrian Club who was timed at 43.33 seconds riding Tayson 17. Hamad Ali Al Kirbi and Abdul Rahman Al Habsi, from Sharjah Equestrian Club, and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club finished third and fourth.
