Anaheim, California: Chris Stewart had a goal and two assists, Frederick Andersen stopped 40 shots, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Nashville Predators 4-2 Sunday night.

Rickard Rakell, Sami Vatanen and Andrew Cogliano also scored to help the Ducks snap a five-game skid (0-4-1) and get their second win in 11 games (2-8-2).

Shea Weber and Calle Jarnkrok had Nashville’s goals and Carter Hutton stopped 24 shots. The Predators, coming off a 4-3 overtime defeat at Los Angeles the previous night, lost consecutive games for the first time this season.

After scoring just 10 goals in 10 games, the Ducks broke out of their funk with their second four-goal effort of the season.

In Montreal, Tomas Fleischmann had two goals and an assist to lead Montreal past Winnipeg.

Paul Byron, David Desharnais and Lars Eller also scored for the Canadiens, who have a league-best 22 points (11-2-0) and remained perfect at home (5-0-0). Mike Condon stopped 18 shots to improve to 4-0.

Chris Thorburn scored for Winnipeg, spoiling Condon’s shutout bid with 6:03 remaining.

Michael Hutchison gave up four goals on nine shots for the Jets, and was pulled after giving up Desharnais’ goal early in the second period. Ondrej Pavelec replaced him and stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced.

Sam Reinhart broke a tie with 6:16 remaining to rally Buffalo past the New York Islanders. Matt Moulson also scored in the third period and Linus Ullmark stopped 29 shots to help the Sabres win their second straight and third in their last five.

Calvin de Haan scored his first goal of the season for the Islanders, who have lost three straight. The loss was New York’s second at Barclays Center in regulation. Thomas Greiss made 20 saves.

Neither team scored until past the midpoint of the second period. Both the Sabres and Islanders clogged the middle of the ice, limiting offensive chances mostly to low-percentage shots from the perimeter.
