Montreal: Max Pacioretty scored 3:08 into overtime, Carey Price made 36 saves and the Montreal Canadiens edged the Washington Capitals 1-0 on Saturday for their fifth straight win.

Price posted his second shutout in a row. He stopped the New York Rangers 1-0 on Thursday night, with Pacioretty scoring late in the third period.

Washington lost their fifth consecutive road game. Pacioretty went to the net to tip Tomas Plekanec’s pass over goaltender Braden Holtby for the winning goal.

Steve Mason stopped all 30 shots and Michael Del Zotto scored to help the Philadelphia Flyers beat Toronto and sent the Maple Leafs to their ninth straight loss.

Mason had his second shutout of the season and 25th of his career. The Flyers won their first 1-0 game since November 2, 2013.

The slumping Leafs have been held to one or less goal in eight of nine games. The Leafs had scored one goal in each of the last two games.

The Flyers have won a season-high four straight games as they make a desperate push to get back in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Mark Stone, Bobby Ryan, Erik Karlsson and Mika Zibanejad each had a goal and an assist, helping the Ottawa Senators break away from the Arizona Coyotes.

Marc Methot added three assists for the Senators. It was 1-all before Ottawa scored four times in quick succession. Milan Michalek broke the tie with 3:09 left in the second period and Stone made it 3-1.

Mike Hoffman also scored for the Senators, and Robin Lehner turned aside 35 shots for his first win since December 13.

Zybnek Michalek and Sam Gagne scored for the Coyotes.
