Antwerp: India will face hosts Belgium and Great Britain will play Australia in the final four of the FIH Hockey World League Semi-Finals in Antwerp, Belgium, on Friday.

India had earlier beaten Malaysia 3-2 in the first of four quarterfinals played on Wednesday when Jasit Singh Kular added a double to Satbir Singh’s early opener to cancel out a comeback from Razie Rahim and Shahril Saabah.

Elsewhere, Belgium beat France 5-4. France pulled the Belgian’s level at 2-2 when Martin Genestet and Jean-Laurent Kieffer ruled out efforts from Florent van Aubel and Sebastian Dockier. But Emmanuel Stockbroekx and John-John Dohmen put the hosts back in front and Tom Boon added the fifth between frantic efforts from France’s Aristide Coisne and Genestet before the end.

Meanwhile, Great Britain beat Pakistan 2-1 with Mohammad Umar Bhutta’s strike serving only as consolation to early goals from Chris Griffiths and Alastair Brogdon. And Australia thrashed Ireland 4-1 with goals from Matt Gohdes, Jamie Dwyer, Simon Orchard and Blake Govers condemning the Irish before a consolation from Shane O’Donoghue.

All quarter-final winners qualify to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. India had already qualified as Asian Games champions however.
