Abu Dhabi : President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Al Wahda administration, players and fans, after their team won the title of the UAE Pro Football Leauge (UFL).

The UFL win ensures the team features in the finals of the Fifa Club World Cup to be held in Abu Dhabi later this year. Shaikh Khalifa's message was announced by Shaikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of Al Wahda, expressing his delight and pride for the club's players and fans.

Shaikh Saeed also said that he received a similar telephone call from General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, praising the fighting spirit of the team's players and lauding their title victory.

Special value

Shaikh Saeed said: "Winning this title has a special value because it promotes us to feature in the finals of the Fifa Club World Cup.

"We will do our best to honour our country in the finals and we will prepare well for the occasion specially as it will be held in the capital."

"I am grateful to all the players who fought fiercely and worked hard to win the title and were the best team in the season as all observers confirmed. I also wish all the other teams good luck next season." Shaikh Saeed said.
