Dubai: Saeed Hareb, the chairman of the Organising Committee of Dubai Tour 2015, has hailed the positive impact of the visit of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammad waited near Union Flag House to watch the cyclists pass by on the first of four loops of Jumeirah Beach Road on the opening stage of the second edition of the race on Wednesday.

“While watching the cyclists pass, Shaikh Mohammad had several questions for me. He asked me details about the race and he was happy that the major landmarks of Dubai were being shown to such a huge television audience all over the world,” Hareb told Gulf News.

“When you have Shaikh Mohammad attend an event it shows how serious he is about following what we are up to. Though there is so much emphasis on some of the best riders racing here, ultimately our goal is for portraying the essence and flavour of Dubai to a worldwide audience. And with tourism getting so much emphasis from the government, we have found one more way in selling Dubai to the world.”
