In a lop-sided match, Dubai Falcons powered their way to a 10-4 win against El Amin Polo from Nigeria, while Ghantoot Polo stopped Habtoor Polo 8-7 in the second game.

Representing Nigeria El Amin Polo had a strong start with an early 2-0 lead. But Dubai Falcons bounced back strongly to come up with some fine attacking play and lead 5-2 by the end of the second chukka.

But the third chukka was even better for the Falcons as Rashid Bin Drai and Nico Petrachi found their rhythm as they dominated and finished the fourth and final chukka with the score 10-4 in their favour.

The second match was a much more thrilling encounter with two of the best teams in the competition facing each other in the Group B preliminary round.

Working overtime

Ghantoot Polo had the edge by the end of the first two chukkas leading 5-3. But Habtoor Polo with Mohammad Al Habtoor and Cuitino working overtime came back strongly to lead 7-6 by the end of the third chukka.

But it was Ghantoot who had the final say in proceedings as they scored in the very last minute to come out 8-7 winners and secure full points.

The Dubai Falcons and Ghantoot Polo now join DCC Sumaya Polo and Abu Dhabi Polo as the four unbeaten teams in this eight-team competition so far.
