Dubai: South American MMA Champion Luis Santos, a veteran of 61 fights, will challenge unbeaten One FC champion Ben Askren for the ONE FC Welterweight World title in the Philippines on Friday.

The 35-year-old mixed martial artist, who is on a seven-fight win streak, will test the grappling skills of Askren, five years his junior.

Askren, 30, also represented the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games in China and is currently ranked as the No. 5 welterweight in the world by Fight! Magazine.

The event, which will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the Philippines. will also feature three featherweaight division fights between Pakistan’s Bashir Ahmad and Singapore’s Amir Khan; locally based mixed martial artists, Edward Kelly and Jimmy Yabo and Filipino Wang Ya Wei against Indonesia’s Sunoto.

The event will be broadcast live by Physique TV, the region’s first and only 24 hour HD television channel dedicated to fitness, healthy living, nutrition and action sports,

It will be available to TV audiences in the UAE exclusively on Physique TV through Du and Elife packages.
