Sharjah: The Sharjah Ladies Club beat Kalba Ladies club 149-5 in one of the most crucial matches of the UAE Basketball Championship, at Khor Fakkan on Friday.

The first round started with much excitement from SLC as they showcased their ability by keeping constant control over the ball and not missing out any opportunities. SLC was able to score point after point which made the Kalba team confused and it was obvious in the first-round score that ended with 40/1 in favour of SLC.

The second and third round saw team Kalba trying very hard to come back which led to some tense moments of shear excitement as both teams fought hard to keep the ball within their reach. But SLC proved to be the stronger of the two and fought back the changed strategy of Kalba by scoring points to put the scores of these two rounds to 40/2 and 39/0.

The forth and final round continued to witness the decline in the level of performance for the Kalba team as they did very little to revitalise their performance or increase score points. The round ended with the score of 30/2 in favour of SLC who also won the match with the final result of 5/149.

Nada Askar, the Manager of Women Sports Department at SLC said: "We are very happy with our winning streak and we hope to continue down this road and become the champions of this tournament. I would like to thank both teams for their great performance and their willingness to play."
