Philadelphia: Tyson Chandler had 20 points, 13 rebounds and four steals as the Dallas Mavericks defeated Philadelphia 110-103, sending the struggling 76ers to their 16th straight loss on Saturday.

Philadelphia is now just two losses away from tying the 2009-10 New Jersey Nets (0-18) for the worst start to a National Basketball Association season.

Monta Ellis finished with 18 points and five assists and Chandler Parsons tallied 17 points, six rebounds and six assists for Dallas, which has won three in a row and nine of its last 11 contests.

Michael Carter-Williams recorded 18 points, a career-high 16 assists and 10 rebounds, while K.J. McDaniels delivered 21 points for the Sixers, who set a franchise record with their 16th straight defeat to start a year.

The 1972-73 Sixers began 0-15 en route to setting the NBA record for fewest wins in a season with nine.

The Toronto Raptors’ leading scorer DeMar DeRozan, meanwhile, will be out indefinitely after suffering a groin injury in Friday’s National Basketball Association game against Dallas.

The all-star guard tore his adductor longus tendon in his left groin in a loss to the Mavericks, the team said on Saturday.

DeRozan dropped to the floor on a drive to the basket in the third quarter. He eventually got to his feet and walked off the court cautiously.

Before leaving the game, the struggling DeRozan had missed all eight shots he attempted. He entered Friday’s contest leading the Raptors with an average of 20.7 points per game.
