Sharjah: Our Own High School, Dubai girls reached the semifinal of the DPS inter-school basketball tournament for boys and girls, organised by Delhi Private School, Sharjah.
Our Own defeated Westminster School 65-27.
In the boys' event, DPS, Sharjah scored an easy 85-29 win over Dubai Scholars.
In an earlier match for girls, St Mary's Dubai defeated Winchester, Dubai 38-27.
In the boys' division, Our Own School, Al Warqaa beat St Mary's, Dubai 58-42.
Our Own School, Sharjah also scored an emphatic win over Wesgreen International Sharjah 87-11.
The main scorers for Our Own were Harish 32, Ali Hussain 28 and Ashwin 11. For Wesgreen, Ali Ahmad, Khalil Akkilah, and Ahmad Jawwa scored three points each.
Meanwhile, New Indian Model School (NIMS), Sharjah scored an exciting 62-59 victory over NIMS Dubai.
The star of NIMS, Sharjah's victory was Ajeeth Sugunan, who scored 38 points. The other scorers were Amjad (15), Nasruddin (19)
NIMS, Dubai which fought well scored through Sinan Kalam (21), Noor (12), Thanzeer (10), Amzeen (7), Esmail (6) and Raj (2).
