Our Own English High School, Dubai, NIMS, Dubai and Indian High, Dubai topped their pools to join the hosts in the quarterfinal line-up of the Inter-School Basketball tournament.
Gulf Asian School, Sharjah and Emirates National, Sharjah, who finished second from their pools, also qualified for the knockout stage.
Five matches were played on Wednesday in which NIMS, Sharjah and Our Own, Dubai registered easy wins over Dubai Modern High School and Indian High School, B team.
The match of the day was between The Model School, Abu Dhabi and Our Own English High School, Dubai (B team). Both the teams played aggressive games and matched each other in all aspects of the game.
Fouzan Abbas and Eisa Galadhari steered Our Own into a 3-point lead in the 1st quarter. Masoomullah, Hosni Hamza and Mohammad combined well in the second quarter to push Abu Dhabi into a single point lead at the end of the first half (17-16).
NIMS, Dubai defeated Sharjah Indian School 48-31 in their second league match. Playing a fast game Majeed and Deepak scored fluently against Sharjah Indian. At half time, NIMS led by 12 points (26-14).
