Hosts New Indian Model School (NIMS), Sharjah defeated Our Own Indian School, Dubai to reach the semi finals of the 15th NIMS Trophy Inter school basketball tournament organised by the NIMS, Sharjah.

The host team outplayed Our Own Indian from the start. Mohammad Sohel and Mithulaj Moideen spearheaded the NIMS attack.

Our Own Indian found it difficult to break the opponent team's defence. At the end of the first quarter, NIMS led 17 4.

NIMS went for the kill and led the first half 30 -8. Ryan Rocque staged a lone battle for Our Own Indian to move his team's score to 19 at the end of the third quarter against NIMS' 37.

NIMS continued its scoring spree in the last quarter of the game to raise their lead to 36 points and win 66 30.

In another match, Indian High School, Dubai stopped Sharjah Indian School (42-19) while NIMS, Dubai trounced Emirates National School, Sharjah to reach the semi finals.

Emirates National started off well and tied the score 14-14 at the end of the first quarter.

NIMS, Dubai found their rhythm in the second quarter. While Emirates National added only 14 points during the remaining three quarters, NIMS amassed 47 points and went on to win 61 28.

The last quarter finals between Our Own English High School, Dubai and Gulf Asian School, Dubai was well fought.
