Philadelphia: Michael Carter-Williams produced game highs of 26 points and 10 assists in leading the unbeaten Philadelphia 76ers past Chicago 107-104 on Saturday in a matchup of NBA contenders.

Center Spencer Hawes had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the 76ers, including the critical 16-foot jumper off a pass from Carter-Williams that gave Philadelphia the final margin of victory with 5.9 seconds to play.

British standout Luol Deng, who scored 20 points for the Bulls in a losing cause, missed a final three-pointer and the 76ers hung on for the victory, improving to 3-0 to match Indiana for the league’s best record.

Carlos Boozer led Chicago with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Derrick Rose added 13 points and Joakim Noah contributed 10 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls, who fell to 1-2.

Evan Turner had 20 points for Philadelphia, which has won the first three games of the season for the first time since 2006. The club had lost to the Bulls in their past five regular-season meetings.

The 76ers upset two-time defending NBA champion Miami on Wednesday and rallied from 12 points down in the second half to win on Friday at Washington.
