Former Iowa State University boss signs five-year deal as Thibodeau’s successor
Chicago: The Chicago Bulls introduced Fred Hoiberg as their new head coach on Tuesday, just days after they fired Tom Thibodeau, who had guided them to the play-offs in each of his five seasons.
The US media reported that Hoiberg agreed to a five-year deal worth about $25 million (Dh91.83 million). Hoiberg spent five seasons as head coach at Iowa State University.
The 42-year-old played for the Bulls from 1999-2003 as part of a 10-year NBA career that also included stints with Indiana and Minnesota.
The Bulls moved quickly to find a replacement for Thibodeau, who was fired last week amid friction with the front office. (AFP)
