Dubai: Lebanon's Intra Nic will take on Jordan's Orthodox Club in the opening match of the 13th Arab Women's Clubs Basketball Championship at 5.20pm today.
The first match will be followed by the opening ceremony.
The second match of the evening between hosts Al Ahli and Al Muharraq will be held at 8.10pm at the indoor hall of Al Ahli Club.
The draws for the competition were held at the official hotel in Al Ghusais late on Monday.
Ali Mohammad Ali, Vice President of the UAE Basketball Association, Abdullah Al Ansari, general secretary and Hanafi Abu Talib, general secretary of the Arab Basketball Cofederation conducted the draws in the presence of coaches from participating teams.
The 11 participating countries have been divided into two groups. Group A has five teams including hosts, Al Ahli, while Group B has four teams.
The competition is being held under the patronage of Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
